What We Do

Dental Implants

If you have a genetically missing tooth or have lost a tooth due to decay or fracture, dental implants are your best option. Dental implants are the closest treatment we have that restores the missing tooth just like the natural tooth was there. It allows us to treat the missing tooth independently of the adjacent teeth. In this way we don't touch the adjacent teeth as when doing a bridge and the adjacent teeth have to be unnecessarily ground down. If you are struggling with dentures, dental implants can truly change the quality of your life.

Implants also help to preserve the jaw bone. When a tooth is removed the bone surrounding the tooth resorbs, load a denture on this area and the bone resorbs 4-10X faster. Wear a denture for 10-20 years and you may not have any bone left. Studies have shown that people who wear dentures on average live 10 years less than those who keep their teeth or have implants. The only other statistic that will take 10 years off your life is smoking. Poor nutrition from not being able to eat correctly with a denture certainly plays a major role in this. Implants will preserve the jaw bone allowing us to place individual teeth or to tightly secure a denture.

When permanent teeth are lost, regardless of the reason or number of teeth, dental implants can offer a "new lease on life." They are superior to other choices because they are solid, secure, and esthetic. After nearly 35 years of use, they have a 90-95% proven success rate in appropriately chosen cases. If you have experienced a lost tooth or teeth and think dental implant may help, call today for a consultation.

Patient 1

This patient had a failed bridge. We sectioned off the back 2 crowns and removed the bad tooth, placed 2 implants and restored with 2 individual crowns.

Patient 2

This patient had tooth problems on both sides of his lower jaw. We removed the whole bridge on his right side and placed 4 implants and crowns. On his back left side he was without teeth for several years so we placed 2 more implants and he has full use of his lower jaw. We also veneered the lower anterior teeth for esthetics and function. His top teeth are next.

Patient 4

This patient also lost the back teeth holding a bridge on the upper right and later fractured the root on the cuspid. We placed 4 implants and restored with crowns. Years earlier she had lost several teeth and a bridge on the lower left. We placed 2 implants and gave her an implant supported bridge.

Patient 5

This patient had an inlay-type bridge for a missing tooth. She was not happy with the esthetics of the bridge and didn't like that she couldn't floss. We placed a single implant and restored with a crown.

Patient 6

Another case of a bridge failure. Rather than place another bridge that we know will fail again. A single implant was placed and individual crowns were made.

Patient 7

Again this is a failed bridge in the posterior and a fractured root more forward. 3 implants were placed and individual crowns made.

Patient 8

This patient had worn dentures for many years and no longer had the bone to keep his lower denture stable. We placed 4 implants and made him an overdenture to snap into the implants.
