While only 20 hours of education are required to maintain a dental license in Utah, Dr. Gleave spends over 300 hours a year in seminars and training. Dr. Gleave has opted for extra training to become an expert in dental procedures like cosmetic dentistry, porcelain veneers, dental implants, dental lasers, and sedation dentistry.

Dr. Gleave is a graduate from the Las Vegas Institute of advanced dental studies (LVI). This is the premiere teaching institute in the country for cosmetic dentists.

He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists (AACD). Dr. Gleave is also a member of the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists) and AAID (American Academy of Implant Dentists). Throughout the year, he volunteers his time and dental expertise to the ADA's Give Kids a Smile® program, which provides dental services to Salt Lake City kids who do not have access to quality dental care. He also volunteers for the "Give back a smile program" which helps restore smiles for battered women in Salt Lake City.
