Are you looking for a way to fix your broken, cracked, crooked, or discolored teeth? Do you want to look ten years younger? Dental veneers may be the solution you’ve been looking for. Salt Lake City dentist Dr. Rod Gleave is a dental veneer specialist and dedicates over 300 hours a year to continuing his education. To schedule an initial consultation with your SLC dentist, request an appointment online or call us at (801) 262-0744.

Here are the four dental veneer options we offer:

1. Traditional Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain is one of the most popular veneer materials because of its durability, translucency, and adaptability. The color and texture look just like natural teeth and can be adjusted to match your exact tooth color. One of the best things about traditional porcelain veneers is that they typically last between 10 and 15 years.

To place these veneers, your SLC dentist will gently file down your natural tooth enamel, take impressions of your mouth, and send the impressions to a dental lab. It can take a couple of weeks for your veneers to be crafted.

At your second appointment, your dentist will place the veneers over your teeth and check for any issues. Minor adjustments can be made if necessary. The dentist will then use a strong dental adhesive and special light to permanently bond the veneers to your teeth.

2. Composite Veneers

One benefit of composite veneers is that they are more affordable than porcelain. However, this also means that composite veneers are less durable. The composite resin material chips much more easily than porcelain. The good news is, if composite veneers are damaged, they can be repaired. Traditional porcelain veneers, on the other hand, need to be completely replaced when damaged.

Our dentists can place composite veneers in just one appointment. These veneers will last you anywhere from 4-8 years if they are properly taken care of.

3. Prepless Veneers

For patients who aren’t completely sold on permanent veneers, or for those who just don’t want to damage their healthy enamel, prepless veneers are a great option. They don’t require your dentist to remove any dental enamel, and they can easily be taken off.

Prepless veneers are great for people with short or gapped teeth. Compare it to looking bigger than you actually are when you put on a jacket. If your teeth are a normal size, they will appear larger once the veneer is placed.

4. Lumineers

Just like the other veneer options, Lumineers improve crooked or misaligned teeth, brighten your smile, hide cracked or chipped teeth, and cover gaps between teeth. And just like with prepless veneers, your original tooth is left the same. The main difference between lumineers and your other options is that they are made of a thinner material.

In some cases, lumineers can appear bulky. This is why it’s important to choose an experienced and specialized dentist to place your veneers. Dr. Gleave’s expertise will ensure you leave our office with a natural, beautiful smile.
